Q: Which type of toothbrush should I use?
A: A soft toothbrush with a small head is recommended because medium & hard brushes tend to cause irritation and contribute to recession of the gums. A small head allows you to get around each tooth more completely and is less likely to injure your gums.  You want to brush in a soft circular motion not black and forth to avoid recession of the gums and tooth sensitivity.  An electric rotating toothbrush is a great and thorough way to get your teeth clean.

Q: Is one toothpaste better than others?
A: Generally, no.  However, use a toothpaste that is specific to your needs.  If your teeth are sensitive, use a sensitivity toothpaste.  If you have a tartar concern, use a tartar control toothpaste.  If you have dry mouth concerns, then use a dry mouth toothpaste.  It is advisable to use a fluoride containing toothpaste to decrease the incidence of dental decay.

Q: How often should I floss?
A: We recommend flossing twice per day.  This helps to prevent cavities from forming between the teeth where your toothbrush can’t reach.  The best time to floss is at night when you are finished eating and drinking.  Flossing helps keep your gums healthy.
